Auckland — where most site visits happen on a phone.

Mobile-Friendly Isn’t Optional Anymore

If your site fights thumbs, customers leave quietly. Build for the phone first — and keep it ready for AI and messaging later.

I still see “desktop first” sites that technically shrink on a phone — tiny buttons, sideways scrolling tables, forms that make you zoom with two fingers. That’s not mobile-friendly. That’s a desktop site wearing a smaller jacket.

Most of your enquiries, WhatsApp chats, and “quick looks at our site” happen on a phone these days. If the experience is fiddly, people leave. They don’t send an email explaining why.

What we actually check

Can you read the headline without pinching? Can you tap the main CTA with a thumb? Does the contact form work with the on-screen keyboard? Do images load without wrecking someone’s data plan?

None of that is glamorous. All of it matters more than a fancy animation that only looks good on a 27-inch monitor in the office.

Mobile-friendly and AI-connected

A brochure site that looks fine on a phone is table stakes. The next bit — for us — is making sure that site isn’t a dead end. Enquiry forms that land somewhere useful. Pages structured so search and AI assistants can describe you accurately. Room to plug WhatsApp or automation later without starting again.

That’s why our Web Presence package builds mobile-friendly in from day one, alongside the SEO / LLMO / GEO basics. You’re not choosing between “pretty on desktop” and “usable on the bus.”

A quick test

Pull your site up on your own phone right now. Try to book a call or send a message in under thirty seconds. If you swear at the screen, your customers are swearing too — they just don’t tell you.

If that test didn’t go well, we can fix it. Sometimes it’s a tidy rebuild on a sensible package. Sometimes it’s a few ruthless layout changes. Either way, start with the phone in your hand, not the mockup on the wall.
