Get Your Systems Talking Before You Add AI
Integration still pays the bills. Clean pipework first — then automation has somewhere useful to live.
AI gets the headlines. Integration still pays the bills. If your CRM, finance tool, and job system don’t talk to each other, no amount of clever drafting will save your team from typing the same customer name three times.
We’ve said this on free chats until we’re blue in the face: sometimes the first job isn’t an agent. It’s getting the pipework straight.
Clean data beats clever models
Automations need something trustworthy to read. Duplicate customers, half-filled forms, and “that spreadsheet Bob keeps on his desktop” will make any AI look stupid. Fix the joins first — or at least know where the mess is — then layer on sorting and drafting.
That’s why a lot of our work still looks like classic software: APIs, queues, shared IDs, a single place that owns the truth.
What good integration feels like
A booking on the website shows up in the job list without someone forwarding an email. A WhatsApp status update writes back to the same record the office uses. An invoice field lands in finance without a re-type.
Boring when it works. Extremely noticeable when it doesn’t.
AI on top — when you’re ready
Once the systems share data, AI has somewhere useful to live: triage an enquiry into the right queue, draft a reply from real order history, flag a mismatch for a human. Without that foundation you’re automating chaos.
If you’re staring at five logins and a gut feeling that “AI will fix it,” book a chat. We’ll help you sort whether you need automation, integration, or both — in that order.
